First Announcement and Call for Papers
Dear Colleagues
On behalf of the IUFRO Wood Drying Working Party (S05.04.06) and the
Organizing Committee we are confirming the 12th International IUFRO Wood
Drying Conference, to be held in Belém, State of Pará, Brazil; from July 30th to August 3rd.
It will be the first meeting of the Drying Group in South America. The place, located in the Brazilian Amazon, was chosen to make it easier the participation of
delegates from Central and South America; as well to give to our colleagues from
the North Hemisphere an opportunity to visit the tropical region.
The WDC 2012 theme is “Challenges and opportunities related to tropical lumber
drying”, which reflects the concern about the sustainable use of tropical forest.
Very soon the website will be accessible at http://www.wdc2012.com, with more
detailed information. As soon as the website is accessible, the Organizing
Committee will send a second announcement asking to visit the WDC webpage
and to complete the Pre-registration form.
We hope to meet you all in Belém next year.
